ASO Score
When it comes to app optimization, there are various metrics to measure performance. However, to get a comprehensive evaluation of your app page, you need to consider an App Store Optimization (ASO) score.
What Is ASO Score?
An ASO score is a parameter that shows how well the metadata (text and graphic assets) on your page are optimized and follow best practices. On the Asolytics platform, this score is shown as a percentage; the higher it is, the better. You can check the ASO score of your app on the Dashboard:
The following parameters are taken into account while calculating the App Store scores:
- text elements: the product’s name, subtitle or short description, and a full description;
- screenshots (for different locales);
- ratings and reviews;
- other factors like keywords used.
Asolytics provides a convenient color gradation ranging from red (poor optimization) to green (good optimization) for visual analysis. The percentages next to each parameter show how much of its capacity has been utilized.
This information helps developers to compare their performance with major competitors and identify strengths and weaknesses. For instance, you can see which app page listings you didn't fully optimize and work on improving those elements to increase your overall score.
However, the ASO score doesn't reflect your app’s rank in the app stores or its visibility level. It only highlights existing gaps in metadata optimization and provides insights on how to improve it.
So, some apps may have lower scores but still be popular and in high demand among their target audience. To find out how and why apps gain popularity, head to our blog.
